1.METADATA required for all datasets

To catalogue correctly your data we need the following information
  • Projection used and its parameters (ex: the zone for the UTM projection):
    Example : Universal Transverse Mercator. Clark 1880 Spheroid UTM Zone 36


  • Scale/Resolution : original scale of data or resolution
    Examples: (scale of the map from which data has been digitized);
    (size of a pixel = 1 km2)

  • Data processing
    Example : map digitized in Burundi, clipped out for catchment area


  • Source and date of the data
    Example : Survey and mapping Division, Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development. Tanzania Survey 1972


  • Copyrights :This refers to the limitation in the use of the data defined by the creator of the data. For further details ask your data manager.
    Example : Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, 1978


  • It can be LTBP (Lake Tanganyika Biodiversity Project) if the data has been created by the project participants
  • If necessary, please provide a file detailing the description of the data a list of the column headers and explanation of the headers the description of any codes used in the data and their meanings.
