In Tanzania and Zambia the National Co-ordinators are supported by full time assistants employed through the project.

NWGs have a core membership of approximately 10 with additional members co-opted on an ad-hoc basis as required. The groups should meet 4 times per year.

The current core membership of the four National Working Groups is given in Table 2.

National Implementing Institutions - All project activities in the region are carried out by the relevant national institutions and their staff. During its four and a half years of operation the project has collaborated with 74 institutions and over 300 scientists, technicians and managers.
